These terms cover your use of the PedalConquest mobile app and this website (together, "the app"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. The app is operated by Abdulrahman Al Kadri, an individual developer based in Norway. If you don't agree with something here, don't use the app.
PedalConquest rewards covering ground, and that can tempt you to ride in ways you otherwise wouldn't. Please don't.
You ride entirely at your own risk, and you are responsible for your own safety and for obeying the law.
PedalConquest is a game. You record bike rides, the roads you cover are added to a territory you hold on a shared map, closing a loop captures the area inside it, and riding through another player's territory transfers the overlapping part to you.
"Territory", "land" and "claiming" are game concepts only. They create no ownership, tenancy, easement, right of way or any other legal interest in real property, and no right to enter anywhere. They exist as rows in a database and nothing more.
You sign in with Apple or Google. You're responsible for keeping access to that account secure, and for everything done through it. You must be at least 13 years old. One person, one account.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account in the app. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, territory, roads and ride history. Territory you held becomes immediately available to other players.
The game only works if the rides are real. You agree not to:
The app applies automatic sanity limits to claims (for example, a cap on the area a single loop can capture and on the length of a single road segment). Attempting to defeat those is a breach of these terms.
You keep ownership of your display name, profile picture and ride data. You grant a licence to store, process and display them as needed to run the game — which specifically includes showing your name, country, colour, profile picture and the territory you hold to other players on the map and leaderboards.
Only upload a picture you have the right to use. Content that breaches section 3 may be removed.
Any charges that apply are shown before you incur them. Where a purchase is offered, it is handled by Apple or Google under their own terms, and their refund policies apply.
This is an independent project run by one person. The app is provided "as is". Service may be interrupted, features may change or be withdrawn, and game data — including territory — may be reset, corrected or lost. No uptime is guaranteed and no backup of your data is promised.
Competitions such as monthly country cups are decided by figures calculated on the server. Where a result is affected by a bug or by cheating, it may be corrected or voided.
Access may be suspended or removed where these terms are breached — in particular for falsified rides. Where reasonable, you'll be told why.
To the fullest extent the law allows, the app is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Mapping and GPS data may be inaccurate.
To the fullest extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for indirect or consequential loss, for lost game data or territory, or for injury or damage arising from how you choose to ride. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
If you're a consumer, you keep all the statutory rights your local law gives you, and nothing here reduces them.
These terms may change. The date at the top will change with them, and material changes will be posted here before taking effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new version.
These terms are governed by the law of Norway. If you're a consumer, you may also rely on the mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in, and may bring proceedings there.
